CDCR Correctional Sergeant — Reading and Writing Comprehension

CDCR's study guide prints two task formats under this segment: drawing a conclusion from a short passage, and putting four scrambled sentences back into their correct order.

Reading comprehension

You draw the conclusion a short passage actually supports, using only what the passage itself says — not outside knowledge of corrections policy, and not an assumption about what a passage on this topic would 'probably' conclude.

Paragraph organization

You're given four sentences out of order and asked to put them back into the sequence that reads as one connected paragraph — testing whether you can track how ideas link from one sentence to the next, not vocabulary or grammar in isolation.
