Ability to Learn and Apply Information

Training Lesson: Introduction to the Corridor Lighting Controller The Corridor Lighting Controller (CLC-40) is a wall-mounted unit that governs the lighting circuits on a single corridor. Its front panel carries one status lamp and a two-character display. Table 1. Corridor Lighting Controller conditions. When the circuit is drawing normal current, the indicator is steady green, the display reads C0, and no action is needed and no entry is made. When a lamp on the circuit has failed, the indicator is steady amber, the display reads C4, and enter the corridor number in the lamp log. When the circuit is drawing more current than it should, the indicator is flashing amber, the display reads C6, and switch the corridor circuit to standby and then notify the duty electrician of the code. When the controller has lost its timing signal, the indicator is flashing green, the display reads C7, and reset the panel clock from the master clock. When the circuit has no power at all, the indicator is unlit, the display reads C9, and check the corridor breaker before reporting. After reading the display, work through these steps in order: 1. Record the two-character display code on the corridor card. 2. Carry out the action listed for that code in Table 1. 3. Initial the corridor card and enter the time. 4. Return the card to the panel holder. One further rule applies to this corridor: once the number of lamp failures recorded on one corridor card reaches 3, the whole corridor circuit is scheduled for replacement.

The CLC-40 is in the state where a lamp on the circuit has failed. Which two-character code appears on its display?
